Two lessons on Rowan Atkinson’s Speech in 2011 in support of reforming section 5 of the public order act. Range of activities, including comprehension questions, writing tasks and a debate task, as well as a copy of the speech. A Non fiction lesson on Marcus Rashford letter to MP’s regarding Free School Meals with a range of activities and questions. A lesson looking at Ghandi and an extract from a speech Gandhi gave on this Kashmir Issue on 4th January 1948. A range of activities and questions. A lesson looking at Donald Trump, examining an extract from Donald Trump’s Campaign Rally in New York City on October 27, 2024. Students guided to think critically of Trump and his speech, with a range of activities and some group work. One lesson on David Attenborough, with a youtube clip, biography and letter writing activity at the end. 2 Lessons on Greta Thunberg, one looking at who she is and her motivations. Use of a TED talk on youtube and activities at the end on climate change. The second lesson looks closely at Thunberg’s ‘How Dare You’ speech and requires pupils to answer a question on the language she uses. 2 Lessons examining the Post Office Horizon Scandal with a letter writing activity, and an examination of the closing remarks of the solicitor. Resources to help students analyse the language used by the solicitor including a partially filled table, and a question for pupils to answer on the speech.
